I work directly with the Planning department and their program manager of the BoxART program to coordinate and schedule the artists who are paid through the City to paint selected traffic signal cabinets and service enclosure. Being the main contact on this program from the Public Works department has helped me learn more about how the planning department and artists feel about the cabinets they work on and how to better work schedule signal upgrades to protect the cabinets with art. Communication between the two groups is necessary to have a long lasting artwork beautifying our city.
